Minimum bedroom size vs a room that fits a queen
70 sq ft is legal. A queen won't fit well.
The IRC lets a habitable room be 70 sq ft with no side under 7 ft, and a bedroom also needs an egress window. But a queen (60 × 80″) with 24″ on each side and 36″ at the foot needs about 9 × 10 ft, and a king about 10′6″ × 10 ft, before you add a dresser and its 36″ of drawer space.
