Measure a room in 5 minutes
Measure twice. Buy once.
Five minutes with a tape measure saves a furniture return. Walls corner to corner at floor level, in inches or cm. Doors: width, hinge side and swing (a 32″ door needs 32″ of clear floor). Windows: width and sill height, because a 30–36″ sofa back can block a low window. Outlets and vents. Then both diagonals: equal means the room is square.
Old house? Walls drift, so use the shorter number.
