Laundry room dimensions: 27″ machines, 36″ in front
A laundry room starts with 27 inches.
Full-size US washers and dryers are 27″ wide (EU machines 600 mm). Side by side that's 54″, so plan 56–60″ of width. Add 4–6″ behind for hoses and the dryer vent, keep 36″ (900 mm) clear in front to load and kneel, 42″ if the space is also a walkway. A stacked pair fits a closet about 30″ wide.
